Clergy Leadership Institute Continuing Education
Not Just for Clergy
Our programs are designed for professionals and lay persons:
- Who want to honor and work congruently with their spiritual values
- Who work in business and church settings
- Who work with individuals and organizations
Continuing Education Participants
Clergy make up the majority of our training participants.
They are typically from the mainline traditions such as Episcopal, United Church of Christ, Presbyterian, Christian Church, Methodist, Lutheran, Mennonite, United Church of Canada and we also have participants from Unity, Unitarian Universalist, Congregational, Baptist, and other Non-Denominational Churches.
In addition to Clergy the following also participate in our programs:
- Church Leaders.
- Lay Professionals.
- Psychologists, Coaches and Counselors who work with Clergy and Consult to Churches.
- Not-for-Profit Leaders.
We also have participants who want to work in the business world congruently with their spiritual values and understanding.
While personally commited to Contemplative Spirituality that has its origins in Christian and Buddhist understanding we invite and encourage our participants to use their own spirituality as a resource for their life and daily work.
Continuing Education Approval
The Appreciative Way and The Clergy Leadership Institute is approved to sponsor continuing education by the following organizations:
American Psychological Association
The Appreciative Way is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Appreciative Way maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Discontinuation of Approval: National Board of Certified Counselors, (NBCC)
We are no longer an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) for NBCC counselors.
This decision was taken following a change in the NBCC policies and the small number of our training participants seeking NBCC continuing education.
Board Certified Coach (BCC)
The Appreciative Way's Certificate of Appreciative Coaching is a BCC founding CCE-approved coach training program.
Continuing Education Purpose
Our intention behind gaining APA as a Sponsor of Continuing Education programs for psychologists and Counselors was to provide a continuing education venue for:
- Clergy who also work as psychologists or counselors.
- For psychologists and counselors who work with clergy and congregations.
- For psychologists, coaches and counselors who want to work in the secular world congruently with their spiritual values and understanding.
